Characteristics of KAPPALAND.

• Hydroponic cultivation with the NFT system requires significantly less nutrient solution than DFT hydroponics, and it is possible to maintain strong vegetative growth due to the optimal root area environment with low-cost cooling and heating of the nutrient solution.
• The unique bed structure ensures supply of dissolved oxygen necessary for cucumber roots, resulting in a stable cultivation and high yield.
• EC and PH control and an optimal nutrient solution environment increase the speed of growth, make it possible to grow for three times a year, and can achieve a yield of 40 tons per 10a, leading to reduced use of agrochemicals.
• The growth of the plants throughout the year is strong, so that it is possible to achieve a high quality rate of over 90% . ( Japan’s national average of high quality rate is 75% in soil cultivation: from the Vegetable Business Association’s “Guidelines by Product and Usage”).
• By shifting the planting timing of three times a year, cultivation management and work can be standardized.
• By purchasing self-rooted seedlings raised at “NAE TERRACE” seedling and cultivation can be divided into separate operations.
• Cleanup for the next planting at the end of cultivation releases the workers from heavy labor, such as soil disinfection.
